Do you offer plus sizes?

I am very passionate about offering plus sizes! I was hoping to have it be part of this Kickstarter campaign, but we hit a snag in our pattern development and the plus sizes were not ready. I am hoping to launch a specific plus size collection in the spring/summer of 2017. So stay tuned!

I’m pregnant/just had a baby and I don’t know what size I should order?

Don’t worry, you don’t need to decide now. We will send you a backer survey after the Kickstarter is complete where you can pick out what size you want.

How does the donation part of your campaign work?

If you want to support breastfeeding women but do not need a garment yourself, you can choose to purchase any of the various reward tiers and I will manage the donation of the garment for you. After the campaign, I will email all backers a survey to find out size/color choices and you can let me know you are choosing to donate your garment.

I am working with Chicago Volunteer Doulas to distribute the garments to support breastfeeding women in need. We will focus on supporting teen moms as they are the demographic which face the most obstacles to breastfeeding, however, garments will be available to any woman who has the need.

Who is the organization you are partnering with for donation?

I am working with Chicago Volunteer Doulas to distribute the garments to support breastfeeding women in need. CVD is a birth justice organization providing comprehensive doula support for vulnerable communities in Chicagoland. Visit their website to get more information. They’re totally rad.

What method do you use to ship?

I ship via United States Postal Service 1st Class. All backers will get a TRACKING NUMBER emailed to them when their package leaves my studio in Chicago, Illinois. You can then track your package on the USPS website by entering the tracking number.

My goal is to ship all rewards to Backers in late November or early December. Shipping times for USA destinations is typically about 2-5 days. Shipping times with International destinations varies greatly with each country, typically taking from 1-3 weeks.

All International shipments are marked as a “Gift” and valued at $0.01 to avoid customs. I also ask for your email and phone number for customs. Tracking for International packages is only good until the package is handed off to the country of delivery.

Why do we have to wait until the end of the campaign to get our rewards?

You cannot get the rewards now because they are not made yet. Because of the way Kickstarter operates, I won’t get the pledged money unless I reach my campaign goal. Once the campaign finishes on September 1st, if I reach my $20,000 goal, I will get the money which will go into the manufacturing of the goods you have pre-ordered.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
